What's Catching Our Eyes
Learning and discovery are core to our approach to work and life. The quest for new ways of thinking, new perspectives on the issues, and new opportunities for success drive the way we work at the d3 Group. And we're always excited to share what we're learning and discovering with others. Here are some of the things that have caught our eyes of late:
The Standford Social Innovation Review
Sort of a Harvard Business Review for socially responsible non-profits, this is a great publication (and website) for those who think changing the world AND delivering results for your organiation can both be accomplished. The website will tell you more about the magazine and how to subscribe.
Andrew Zolli is one of the great minds of today focused on understanding the future. While we haven't attended this event (2007 sold out before the 2006 even too place!) we're intrigued and marvel at the group of minds assembled. An event and a person to keep your eyes on.
As their tagline says, "Awakening and engaging collective intelligence through conversations about questions that matter." Who couldn't get excited about that!
We had the opportunity to spend time recently with Bill Taylor, one of the co-authors (along with Polly LaBarre) of this new book that reminds us that blowing up existing models of success to reinvent an industry is not only possible, it's desirable.
Leave it to Seth Godin to package yet another great idea. Feel like you can (and do) spend hours and hours surfing the web in search of just the right answers? And thousands of others are sitting there doing the same. Squidoo provides info on the searches others have done (or share your own) --meaning hours of your time can be saved by the hours that someone else--probably someone with more expertise than you--has done to filter and add meaning to the endless information out there. Confused? Just go to the site and poke around. You'll be glad you did!
